Nippon Chonburi steel plant (จี เจ สตีล , นครไทยสตริปมิล (Thai, predecessor)), also known as Nakorn Thai Strip Mill (predecessor), Nippon GJS steel plant, is a steel plant in Sriracha, Chonburi, Thailand that operates electric arc furnace (EAF) technology.

Background

GJS Steel was established in January 1994 at Hemaraj Chonburi Industrial Estate. In 2022, Japanese Nippon Steel announced their plans to acquire GJ Steel. In 2024, GJ Steel announced that it will make a decision to invest 1.5 billion baht over the next 3 years to revamp the production facility. GJS has obtained a certificate from TGO for producing low-carbon steel (Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization).
