Nippon Rayong Steel plant (บริษัท จี สตีล จำกัด (มหาชน), จี สตีล), also known as G Steel, Nippon G Steel plant, is a steel plant in Nonglalog, Rayong, Thailand that operates electric arc furnace (EAF) technology.

Background

G Steel was founded in 1995 as Siam Strip Mill. The plant is an integrated flat steel producer in Thailand producing crude steel and hot-rolled steel sheets. In 2022, the Japanese Nippon Steel announced their plans to acquire G Steel.[1] G Steel has announced in 2024 that it will invest a 3 billion baht over the next 3 years to upgrade the production facility to improve the quality capabilities, cost competitive, and revamp outdated facilities[2].
