North American Stainless steel plant, also known as NAS, is a 1600 thousand tonnes per annum (TTPA) electric arc furnace (EAF) steel plant operating in Ghent, Kentucky, United States.

Background

The North American Stainless steel plant began operating in 1990 under the company North American Stainless.

In July 2021, the plant had to stop production for a week or so due to a lack of industrial gases and had to declare force majeure.[2][3]
