Background
Natural gas for the power station would be supplied by the proposed Santo Antônio dos Lopes-Caucaia gas pipeline (also known as the Gasoduto Meio-Norte).[6]
In May 2024, Nossa Senhora da Vitória power station's Unit 1 participated in Brazil's September 2022 national energy auction[4] but did not place a winning bid; in September 2024, after two full years without further news, the project was reclassified as shelved. Through March and September 2025, no updates emerged. In June 2026, having failed to be contracted in Brazil's March 2026 LRCAP energy auction, the project was reclassified as cancelled-inferred.[7]
