Background

Two pipelines, with diameters of 30 inches and 48 inches, respectively, run roughly in parallel along the route from Nuevo Teapa to the Salina Cruz refinery.

Line 1 passes through the following municipalities:

  • Veracruz state: Moloacan, Coatzacoalcos, Nanchital de Lázaro Cárdenas del R., Cosoleacaque, Minatitlán, Chinameca, Jaltipan, Texistepec, Oluta, Sayula de Alemán, San Juan Evangelista and Jesús Carranza
  • Oaxaca state: Matías Romero, San Juan Guichicovi, Santa Maria Petapa, Barrio de La Soledad, Asunción Ixtaltepec, Espinal, San Blas Atempa and Salina Cruz

Line 2 passes through the following municipalities:

  • Veracruz state: Moloacan, Coatzacoalcos, Nanchital de Lázaro Cárdenas del R., Cosoleacaque, Minatitlán, Chinameca, Jaltipan, Texistepec, Oluta, Sayula de Alemán, San Juan Evangelista and Jesús Carranza
