Background

OCL India Ltd., formerly known as Orissa Cement Ltd., operates the cement manufacturing facility in Rajgangpur, Odisha, India. Established in 1949, the Rajgangpur plant commenced production in 1952, initially utilizing a wet process. In 1988, the plant transitioned to the more energy-efficient dry process to enhance operational efficiency.[3]

The facility is renowned for producing cement under the "Konark" brand. Over the years, the plant has undergone several expansions and technological upgrades to increase its production capacity and maintain high-quality standards.[3]

OCL India Ltd. is now a part of the Dalmia Bharat Group, one of India's leading cement manufacturers.[4]
