OGE Energy Corporation, with headquarters in downtown Oklahoma City, is the parent company of Oklahoma Gas and Electric Company, a regulated electric utility, and Enogex Inc., a natural gas pipeline business. OGE Energy and its subsidiaries have about 3,100 employees.

Oklahoma Gas & Electric Company (OG&E) is a regulated electric utility company that serves over 750,000 customers in Oklahoma and western Arkansas.

On December 9, 2007 OG&E experienced the worst power outage in Oklahoma history with over 250,000 customers without power.

Power portfolio

Out of its total 6,964 MW of electric generating capacity in 2005 (0.65% of the U.S. total), OGE produced 59.0% from natural gas and 41.0% from coal. All of OGE's power plants are in Oklahoma.[2]
