Background

On February 19, 2022 FATA signed the EPC contract, in consortium with SIEMENS Energy Global, SIEMENS Energy Italia and DEMONT, for the construction of the Ostiglia power plant of EP Produzione S.p.A.

The combined cycle power plant in Ostiglia will have an installed electrical power capacity of approx. 880MW and will be built with a latest generation SIEMENS SGT5-9000HL gas turbine.[8] This turbine is capable of burning a mix of Hydrogen as part of its mix of fuel, but it is noted that there is no infrastructure in place to allow for the plant to operate on Hydrogen.

The commissioning of the plant is scheduled for February 2025.
