Background

PowerNap is a tie-back to the Shell-operated Olympus hub, at a depth of in 1,280 meters of water.[7]

In 2019, Shell stated it expected PowerNap to "produce up to 35,000 bbl/d of oil equivalent at peak rates", but it revised that peak production rate to 20,000 bb/d in 2022 when PowerNap came online. The revision was "due to the reservoir exhibiting lower permeability thus constraining overall production rate and recoverable resources." While production rates were reduced, according to the Journal of Petroleum Technology, had "not made any reserves revision public" as of March 2022.[8]
