Background on Mine

The Prakasham Khani coal mines converted and amalgamated the former Manuguru opencast mine, which produced 1.8 million tonnes per annum, over an area of 668.42 Ha. The Manuguru Opencast coal mine project formerly started with the conversion of the Prakasham Khani Underground coal mine project, a 1.5 MTPA mine, and received its environment clearance on 24 October 2008

The newest expansion of the nearby Manuguru mine received environment clearance for an expansion to 1.8 MTPA on 6 December 2019.
