Background
As of January 2022, the Prosperidade III plant was under construction and expected to begin commercial operations in the second half of the year.[5]
As of September 2022, construction of the plant remained incomplete, and Brazil's national electricity authority ANEEL announced that it had fined project developer Imetame Termelétrica R$ 3 million (three million Brazilian reais) for the delay.[6]
