Background
In 2024, the project was initiated through a cooperation framework agreement signed in March between Chayouhouqi County and Zhongmei Inner Mongolia Energy Co., Ltd.[2] However, subsequent updates in November 2024 reported no new information.
In 2025, search engines again yielded no progress, and by May 2025, no new information was found.[3]
By April 2026, after another year of no developments, the project was officially shelved.
