Background

The Qeshm Steel Development plant in Hormuzgan is a planned project to produce both Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) and Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) steel. According to the company site, the plan is to build two 1.7 million ton per year DRI units and two 1.5 million ton per year EAF units.^[1]
