Background

Raipur Sponge Iron power station is located in Raipur, the state of Chhattisgarh, India. The power station was owned by Monnet Ispat and Energy Ltd. Monnet Ispat and Energy Ltd was renamed JSW Ispat Special Products Ltd in 2020 after a takeover by JSW Steel and AION Investments through a Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP). In August 2018, the joint consortium acquired a controlling stake in JSW Ispat Special Products Limited (formerly known as Monnet Ispat & Energy Limited).
