Background on Mine
The Ramagundam-II Coal Mine has a designed capacity of 4.5 MTPA. It operated by Singareni Collieries Company Limited, a subsidiary of Coal India, on an area of 2252 Ha.[1]
The project received its first environment clearance on 10 January 1992, however, not much infromation is available on the production data and capacity from then.[2]
The project further received environment clearance for Ramagundam Opencast -II Coal Mine Extension Project leading to an increase from 2 MTPA capacity of 4.5 MTPA and an increase in mining area from 453.65 Ha to 2255 Ha on 27 April 2010.[3]
