Background

The Retznei cement plant, similar to the Mannersdorf cement plant, has a strong focus on circular economy. The plant has systems for processing alternative fuels as well as a recycling center for the processing of alternative raw materials. The plant also has an installed 1 mWp photovoltaic array, with a planned expansion to 6 mWp by 2026, in addition to feeding 3 MW of waste heat into the local heating grid.
