Background

In 2021 the project applied for 830 MW existing generation in the T-4 Capacity Market 2024-2025 auction, and they were listed in the final results.[5][6] This would qualify them for government subsidies to guarantee electricity supply.[7]

In 2021, Intergen also announced that once the required infrastructure is built, they will convert the plant to run first on a mix of natural gas and hydrogen, and eventually 100% hydrogen.[8]
