Background
The 2 × 350 MW cogen units were reportedly granted permission to build on 27 September 2022.[2]
In November 2022, it was reported that Xinjiang TBEA Loulan New Energy Company (a subsidiary of Xinjiang Tianchi Energy Co and TBEA) had invested in the construction of the 700 MW Ruoqiang power plant.[3] Construction of Unit 1 allegedly began in March 2023.[4] The supercritical power station's construction was expected to be complete in 2024, with operation anticipated in June of that year.[5]
