In January 2009, Roll Call reported that Ryan, Phillips, Utrecht & MacKinnon had split up and that "Tom Ryan and Jeff MacKinnon have taken two colleagues from the original firm to form Ryan, MacKinnon, Vasapoli & Berzok, while Lyn Utrecht and Bill Phillips have snagged seven colleagues to join their venture Utrecht & Phillips. The Ryan MacKinnon firm will focus on legislative and lobbying work, and Utrecht & Phillips will specialize in campaign finance law as well as lobbying."[1]
Working for Dominion
In 2008 Ryan, Phillips, Utrecht & MacKinnon received $120,000 in fees from the major U.S. power utility Dominion for work on climate change issues.[2] The registered lobbyists were Thomas Ryan, Matthew Berzok, Jeff MacKinnon, Joe Vasapoli,George O'Connor,Bill Phillips, Doug Nappi and Rodney Hoppe.
