Salahuddin power station (محطة صلاح الدين الحرارية، محطة سامراء الحرارية) is an operating power station of at least 1260-megawatts (MW) in Samarra, Salah al-Din, Iraq with multiple units, some of which are not currently operating. It is also known as Salah al-Din, Samarra Thermal power station.

Background

Construction began in 2012 but was delayed until 2018 due to an attack by ISIS on the site.[13][14]

The power station was also hit during a missile attack in 2021, claimed by the Islamic State.[15][16] 2021 was expected to be the year of commissioning but it is unclear if the plant became operational.[14]
