Background

CHPP is a division of PJSC T Plus. Provides heat and electricity to a third of the residential sector of the regional center and more than five large industrial enterprises in Samara.[13]

Unit 4 is to retire by 2025 and be replaced by 125 MW unit (4R).[14]

In August 2023, it was reported that T Plus had issued the first tranche of financing for the modernization of Unit 4. The total cost of the project is 10.6 billion roubles. The modernization of the plant aims to increase both electrical and heat capacity, enhancing the efficiency of heat and electricity production. The steam turbine, generator, transformer, and auxiliary equipment will undergo comprehensive upgrades. The commissioning of the new unit is scheduled for 2025.[15]
