Sangshuping Coal Mine (陕西陕煤韩城矿业有限公司桑树坪煤矿) is an underground coal mine located in Sangshuping Town, Hancheng City, Weinan City, Shaanxi Province, China.[1]

Coal Mine Background

Sangshuping Coal Mine belongs to Shaanxi Shanmei Hancheng Mining Co., Ltd. The mine has a designed production capacity of 3 million tons/year and is divided into two independent mining systems, an inclined shaft and a flat tunnel. Among them, the flat tunnel system has a designed production capacity of 0.9 million tons/year and was put into operation in December 1977; the inclined shaft system has a designed production capacity of 2.1 million tons/year and was put into operation in November 1979.[2] The mine is a coal and gas outburst mine.[3]In 2018, the approved production capacity was 1.65 million tons/year.[4]

On July 6, 2015, a major coal and gas outburst occurred in Sangshuping Coal Mine, killing 4 people.[5]On November 6, 2017, a construction accident occurred in Sangshuping Coal Mine, and one person died; on December 2, 2017, Sangshuping Coal Mine had a carbon monoxide leakage accident, and three people died.[6]
