Background
The 299.92 MW Santana power station was listed as a participant in Brazil's national energy auction in September 2022[4] but was not chosen as a winning bidder. By September 2024, with no news in two years, its status was moved to shelved-inferred. Throughout 2025, no further updates emerged. In June 2026, having failed to be contracted in Brazil's March 2026 LRCAP energy auction[5], the project's status was changed from shelved-inferred to cancelled-inferred.
