Background on Mine

The Saraipalli Opencast Coal Mine has a designed capacity of 1.40 MTPA on a mining lease area of 279 ha. It is operated by South Eastern Coalfields Limited. The project received its environment clearance for a capacity of 1.40 MTPA on 21 March 2007.[1]

The work on mine started in 2016 due to delays in receiving forest clearance.[2]
