Background

The Serbia-Albania Oil Pipeline is an alternative to the Serbia-Hungary Oil Pipeline proposed in 2022 as a means of working around the embargo on Russian searborne import of crude imposed by Europe.[4] While this route would allow for diversification away from Russian oil, it would be a much larger project than the 128 km Serbia-Hungary Oil Pipeline.[1]
