Background

A memorandum of understanding between Macedonia and Serbia for the construction of the pipeline was signed in 2016.[4]

The Project Code in the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Gas (ENTSOG) 2018 TYNDP is TRA-N-965.[8] As of August 2020, according to Energy Community, the main design of the project is expected to be completed by 2021 and construction by 2022.[8]

In its 2020-2029 network development plan, Transportgas Srbija LLC Novi Sad stated that the project was proposed as a 70.7 km long pipeline with a diameter of 300 mm.[5]

However, as of September 2021, Energy Community states that the "Feasibility Assessment, ESIA/EIA and Design Studies" are expected to take place for the project between 2022 and 2023.[7]

"TRA-N-965" is not listed in the ENTSOG 2020 TYNDP[9] nor is any similar interconnector shown on the ENTSOG 2020 TYNDP Transmission map.[10]
