Background

Shah Cement is a subsidiary of Abul Khair Group, one of the largest companies in Bangladesh.[3] The plant in Munshiganj opened in 2002.[4] With a claimed capacity of 10 million tonnes of cement grinding per year, the plant is the largest in Bangladesh and one of the largest in the world.[3]
