Background

The Shandong Hualu Hengsheng power station is a captive power plant that supports the facilities of the Shandong Hualu Hengsheng Chemical Company.[2]

In 2020, the Shandong Hualu Hengsheng Chemical Company announced it would be building a gas power plant project to add to the coal plant's capacity, which is currently (as of August 2021) in the final stage before getting its environmental impact assessment approval, costing 5.9 billion RMB. They are also working on another coal chemical processing facility, a project which will cost the group 5.943 billion RMB.[3][4]

According to the article, Unit 1 and Unit were shut down in 2023. [5]
