Shanggao power station (上高发电厂, 赣能股份上高发电厂 (Unit 1 & 2), 陕煤电力上高有限公司2×1000MW清洁煤电扩建项目 (Unit 3 & 4)) is an operating power station of at least 2000-megawatts (MW) in Luzhou, Shanggao County, Yichun, Jiangxi, China with multiple units, some of which are not currently operating.

Background
Phase I Unit 1
Construction of Unit 1 continued through 2023 and 2024, with milestones including the first concrete pour, boiler steel hoisting, and cooling tower construction.[9][10][11] The generator stator was lifted in October 2024, and the cooling tower was topped out in December.[12][13]
In 2025, the unit achieved boiler ignition, grid connection, and passed its 168-hour trial run in September.[14][15][16]
Phase I Unit 2
Construction of Unit 2 also advanced in 2023 and 2024, with the boiler steel structure and main building roof completed.[17][18]
The unit reached key milestones in 2025 and 2026, including a successful DCS system energization and boiler blow-out, and passed its 168-hour trial run in December 2025.[19][20][21]
Phase II Unit 3
In early 2024, the project was listed, and its feasibility study was reviewed.[22][23] The project received approval in April 2024.[24]
Throughout the rest of 2024 and into 2025, it progressed through tendering for major equipment and construction contracts.[25][26] The first concrete pour for the main building occurred in September 2025, and the chimney structure was topped out in July 2026.[27][28]
Phase II Unit 4
Construction of Unit 4 progressed in 2026, with the main building reaching key milestones.[29][30]
