Shaoguan Wastecoal power station (国粤韶关综合利用发电厂) is an operating power station of at least 700-megawatts (MW) in Lishi Town, Zhenjiang District, Shaoguan, Guangdong, China with multiple units, some of which are not currently operating. It is also known as 国粤华银（韶关）热电综合利用有限公司 (Unit 3), 广东粤华投资集团韶关电厂 (Unit 1, Unit 2), 韶关浈江煤矸石综合利用发电二期项目 (Unit 3).

Background
Shaoguan Wastecoal power station is a 2 x 350 MW subcritical coal plant in Lishi Town.[2][3]
It was permitted for construction in 2015.[4]
Unit 1 was commissioned in 2017.[5] Unit 2 was commissioned in November 2017.[6]
Expansion
In November 2020, plans were announced for a new 700 MW coal-fired unit at the power station. Construction was reportedly planned to begin immediately, with commissioning targeted for 2022.[7]
On August 29, 2022, the new unit was permitted.[8][9]
In September 2022, a preliminary construction ceremony was held.[10]
In November 2022, another ceremony for construction was held,[11] although it was unclear whether construction was truly underway.<ref>
