The Sheetaldhara-Kurja and Kapildhara Group of Underground Coal Mines have a designed capacity 3.0 million-tonnes-per-annum, over a combined mining lease area of 1064.054 ha. The boundaries of the two mines are common and they have a common colony. It is to be noted that Sheetaldhara Kurja was granted environment clearance on 5 October 2004 for 0.88 MTPA and Kapildhara UG on 24 November 1998 for 0.24 MTPA. Both the mines together received further clearance for an expanded capacity of 3.0 MTPA on 22 February 2011.[1]
