Background
The pipeline was included in the gasification program of Gazprom for 2021-2025 for the Vologda region and the Republic of Karelia.[1][2] The project was also included in the list of "Planned Transmission Gas Pipelines", released by the Ministry of Energy of Russia in May 2015 and revised in March 2024.[7] The pipeline starts at 126th km of the Gryazovets-Leningrad Gas Pipeline in the Sheksninsky district and connects to segments I and II.[7][8]
The pipeline will consist of four segments: Stage I: Sheksna-Kirillov Gas Pipeline (Russian: 1 этап.
In January 2025, it was reported that the Lipin Bor-Vytegra Gas Pipeline had been completed. At the fourth stage, 106 kilometers of a branch gas pipeline will be routed to the gas distribution station in Pudozh, Karelia; the design of this line has been completed.[3]
