Background on Project

In 2011 Beijing Energy Investment Holding began preparatory work for a proposed power station of two units of 350 MW each for the town of Shengle.[1]

The project received environmental clearance in 2015,[2] and the plant was commissioned in 2016.[3]

A feasibility study for an additional 2 x 660 MW of capacity was completed in 2019.[4]

As of July 2023, with no further news on the expansion in four years, the project was presumed to be cancelled.
