Background

The power station is owned by Chugoku Electric Power Co and is located in Yamaguchi, Chūgoku Prefecture, Japan.[2] In May 2022, Chugoku Electric Power announced plans to retire the unit in January 2024.[3]

In January 2024, the coal-fired unit was decommissioned.[3]
