Shur Andam Cement Plant

Background

In March 2023, Afghanistan government's Mines and Petroleum Ministry awarded a contract for construction of a new 1 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) cement plant in Kandahar Province at a budget of US $100 million.[1] The government announced that the construction will commence before April 2024. [2] As of January 2025, there hasn't been any developments in the project.[3]
