Background

Insee Cement Hon Chong Cement Plant's cement products all have been certified "Green Label" by the Singapore Green Building Council with an international EPD certificate. Since the beginning, the plant has used a vertical cement mil to reduce energy usage, about 20% less energy consumption than with roller and ball mil compression technology. The plant generates electricity from waste heat recovery, meeting 25% of the plant's electricity demand. The plant installed a bag filter system in 2013 and the dust emission at the main chimney of the clinker kiln produce less than 10 mg/Nm3, well below the limit required by Vietnamese law of 100 mg/Nm3.
