In May 2020, the investment agreement between Sinaopec and Zhoushan government to build an LNG terminal in Liuheng Island was signed. According to the agreement, the project will be sponsored by a joint venture established by Sinopec Natural Gas Co., Ltd. and Liuheng Tidal Flat Reclamation Co., Ltd. The total LNG receiving capacity will be 15 mtpa, with the total investment around 20 billion yuan ($30.7 billion). The first phase will build 4 storage tanks of 220,000 cubic meters each, with receiving LNG capacity of 7 mtpa. The operating date was expected at 2024. [2]
