Background

A positive environmental impact assessment (EIA) was issued for the pipeline in February 2015.[1] As of 2018, the pipeline was in the design phase.[5]

In 2019, Gaz-System anticipated obtaining a building permit in 2021.[6]

On April 27, 2021, plans relating to the location of the pipeline were approved by the Polish government.[7]

As of October 2025, the project does not feature a new date for commissioning.[3] The project status shows that Stage 1 (the SSRP Oświęcim – Oświęcim Zaborze junction, approx. length 0.55 km) has been constructed, while the remaining Stages II, III, IVa, IVb, V are in the design process.[3] The project is included in Gaz System's Ten-Year Development Plan for 2026-2035, with the pipeline expected to be commissioned by 2035.[8] The gas pipeline is expected to obtain a construction permit in 2026.[9]
