Background
Sodegaura LNG Terminal is an LNG terminal in Kanto, Japan.[3]
In March 2016, Tokyo Gas announced that it was planning to build an additional LNG storage tank for the terminal that would be operable by 2023.[4]
The terminal's capacity was originally 27.8 mtpa, until an expansion project added 7.7 mtpa in 2019. Subsequently partial decommissionings reduced the terminal's capacity by 2.8 mtpa and 1.3 mtpa in 2022 and 2024, respectively.[5]
