Background

The 112 MW coal-fired and biomass power station would be built at the M.Setek Soma Factory plant in the city of Soma and powered by coal and scrap materials.[1][2]

The plant began commercial operations in March 2018.[3][4]

Financing

In July 2015, a financing agreement for the project was closed. US$222.32 million in loans was provided by Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Nippon Life Insurance, 77 Bank, Toho Bank, Joyo Bank, and T&D Holdings.[5]
