Sondiha coal mine is a proposed opencast and underground mine, to be operated by Chhattisgarh Sondiha Coal Company Limited a joint venture of Hindustan Power projects and Chhattisgarh Mineral Development Corporation (CMDCL), producing 1 million ton-per-annum (MTPA) coal mine in the Tatapani Ramcola Coalfield of Chhattisgarh state, India.

As of November 2020, there have been no recent updates on the project since its environmental clearance in 2013, and it is likely shelved.

Background on Mine

Sondiha coal mine is a proposed opencast and underground mine, to be operated by Chhattisgarh Sondiha Coal Company Limited a joint venture of Hindustan Powerprojects and Chhattisgarh Mineral Development Corporation (CMDCL), on a mining lease area of 810 Ha producing 1 million ton-per-annum (MTPA) coal mine in the Tatapani Ramcola Coalfield of Chhattisgarh state, India.[1][2] The project received its enironment clearance on 16 September 2013[3]
