Background
Tabalong Wisesa power station is a 60 MW coal-fired power station.[3]
In May 2024, PT Makmur Sejahtera Wisesa signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Tabalong Regency Government for the co-firing of municipal waste at their coal-fired power station in Tabalong.[4]
In July 2025, an article recounted the negative public health impacts attributed to Tabalong power station and Tabalong Wisesa power station.[5]
As of January 2026, the AlamTri Power website stated that the power station co-fired biomass starting in 2021. By the end of 2023, biomass represented 6% of the fuel mix.[6]
In March 2026, reporting on the environmental and public health impacts of coal-fired power stations in South Kalimantan mentioned visible pollution from Tabalong Wisesa power station.[7]
