Tangshan West power station (华润电力唐山西郊热电厂) is an operating power station of at least 700-megawatts (MW) in Lubei District, Tangshan, Hebei, China with multiple units, some of which are not currently operating. It is also known as 华润电力唐山丰润公司 (Phase I Unit 3, Phase II Unit 1, Phase II Unit 2), 唐山赛德热电 (Phase I Unit 1, Phase I Unit 2).

Background

The three coal-fired units of Tangshan West-1 power station, also known as "Tangshan Saide Cogen power station", [1]totaling 300 MW, were brought online in 1998 to 2005. They were all retired in 2014-2015. [2]The plant is owned by Nanjing Public Utilities Development Co, Ltd. (unit 1&2 )[1] and China Resources ( unit3 ).

Description of Expansion

China Resources is currently building two additional coal-fired units at this plant, as Tangshan West-2, with a total planned capacity of 700 MW.[3][4]

Unit 1 began operating in October 2014,[5] and unit 2 in December 2014.[6]
