Background

In March 2022, Sound Energy began construction on a small-scale LNG facility in the Tendrara Concession, it announced via a social media post. This follows the company’s notice to proceed issued last month to Italian contractor Italfluid for the construction of the LNG facility. Sound Energy also had secured an LNG supply deal with Morocco's LPG distributor Afriquia Gaz, under which it will buy no less than 171,000 cubic meters of LNG annually for 10 years.[1]

In May 2023, Sound Energy said that the facility under construction would begin operation in 2024.[3]
