Background
The 690 MW Teresina power station was listed as a participant in Brazil's national energy auction in September 2022[4] but did not place a winning bid. In September 2024, the unit's status was moved to shelved-inferred, as two years had passed without new developments. The project failed to win a contract in Brazil's March 2026 LRCAP energy auction[5], and in the absence of further news its status was changed from shelved-inferred to cancelled-inferred in June 2026.
