Background
In May 2026, a video from Zambia News and Information Services stated that Texxon Energy Ltd. was planning to build a 180 MW coal-fired power station in the Sinazongwe district of the Southern province. The power station was reportedly expected to be completed within 36 months.[1]
Financing
According to reporting from May 2026, the power station was valued at US$175 million.[1]
