Background

The Tianfu Shihutan cogen power station provides electricity and heating to the Shihezi area.[1] Completed in 2011, the plant is equipped with desulfurization and denitrification technology.[2]

From 2012-2014, a new water and heating piping network was added to the plant, connecting it to Shihezi City. That year, the Xinjiang Tianfu Energy Company also invested 44.63 million RMB into creating their open coal yard into a closed one, a project that reportedly saved 13,000 tons of yearly emissions.[3]

Unfortunately, not a lot of other information about the plant is publicly available.
