Background
In 2022, owner Titan announced it's H2CEM green hydrogen production project received inclusion under the EU Important Project of Common European Interest (IPCEI) Hy2Use, which consolidates funding for hydrogen electrolysis, transport and storage development projects across Europe. The H2CEM project includes funding for the production of green hydrogen through electrolysis, powered by renewable energy sources, at TITAN cement plants in Greece, including the Pio plant.
