Background

Tobata LNG Terminal is an LNG import terminal in Kyushu, Japan.

Tobata LNG Terminal began operations in 1977 and has received LNG from Norway among other locales. In June 2019 the terminal received its first LNG shipment from Russia.

The capacity of the terminal was initially 6.5 mtpa, until it was expanded by 1.1 mtpa in 2009.
