Background

Toshali Cements Private Limited was incorporated in 2002.[2] The company became a subsidiary of JK Cement Ltd with effect from 21 February 2024.[3][4]

Toshali Cements acquired assets at Ampavalli, Odisha in February 2003 and began commercial production at the unit with a clinker production capacity of 600 tonnes per day (tpd) in November 2004.[2] The plant utilizes limestone from Ampavalli mines in eastern Ghats.[5]

In September 2023, the company received "in principal" approval from the Government of Odisha, India, for the proposed expansion of the clinker capacity to 1.75 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) and cement grinding capacity to 1.4 mtpa at the Ampavalli cement plant.[3]
